Known as the city of lights for its being the intellectual center during the Age of Enlightenment, Paris is like a taste of home to me. Born in Montreal, our own section of the old city seems multiplied when in Paris. The cobblestoned, narrow streets, as well as the architecture of the buildings, welcome me. It’s as if I never left home.
A Planche of cheese, cold cuts and a baguette, served with wine? What else could say France?
One of my favorite movies is Midnight In Paris. I had to stop at the Église Saint-Étienne du Mont, from where Gil (Owen Wilson’s character) gets whisked away to the past.
